32nd Degree Deluxe black Cap - Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite (AASR)
This black deluxe cap (toque) is intended for the 32nd degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite (AASR). It is embroidered by hand and decorated with a double-headed eagle and a triangle bearing the number 32, as well as two gold braids and a gold cord.
Masters wearing a hat during lodge work dates back to the 18th century, when it was associated with wearing a sword. The old rituals did not describe the type of hat; only certain higher degrees prescribed ritual headwear, as is the case in the 32nd degree. It is offered in sizes 54 to 62.
