Past High Priest Deluxe red Cap. Wreath - American Royal Arch (York Rite)

This red deluxe cap (toque) is that of the Past High Priest, intended for Freemasons of the American Royal Arch (York Rite). It is embroidered by hand, in red and crimson, and decorated with the emblem of the office surrounded by laurels, two gold braids and a gold cord.

Masters wearing a hat during lodge work dates back to the 18th century, when it was associated with wearing a sword. The old rituals did not describe the type of hat, as it was everyday headwear; only certain higher degrees prescribed ritual headwear, as is the case for this American Royal Arch cap. It is offered in sizes 54 to 62.
