The Master Mason’s baldric with Square and Compasses, Blazing Star and Acacia is an item of Master Mason regalia in the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite (REAA). This object combines tradition, symbolism and craftsmanship.

Description

This baldric is made by hand, in turquoise blue with a red edging, a symbol of Masonic nobility and wisdom. It is adorned with the following Masonic emblems:

• Square and Compasses: representing uprightness and measure.
• Blazing Star: symbol of light and knowledge.
• Acacia sprigs: evoking the immortality of the soul.
• Red rosette: stiffened and mounted on a backing, it keeps regular, even pleats in all situations.

The back of the baldric is black and lined, ensuring an impeccable hold, with a funeral print, in keeping with the traditions of Masonic lodges. The standard 90 x 11 cm dimensions meet the requirements of the rites and regulations of Masonic Obediences; a 110 cm length is also available.

Master Mason’s jewel

The baldric can be ordered with or without a jewel. The Master Mason’s jewel, made of airain (a copper alloy, synonymous with bronze or brass), is a piece of Masonic craftsmanship. It shows the Square and Compasses framing the Blazing Star with the letter G. Its 9 x 6 cm size and 100 g weight make it a solid, durable piece, suited to any ceremony.
