The French Rite is one of the pillars of French-speaking of Freemasonry. Direct heir to the 18th century, he combined sobriety, rationality and symbolism. It is now practiced in several forms: the French Rite "Traditional", the French rite "Modern Restored", the French Rite "Groussier" and the Orders of Wisdom, that is the Higher Degrees.
At Nos Colonnes Masonic Boutique, we have gathered all the Masonic regalia necessary for the practice of these different rites: aprons, sashes, collars, Jewels, gloves and insignia of officers. Each product is designed while respecting traditions and adapted to regular use in lodge.

The Foundations of the French Rite
The French Rite was born in 1785, when the Grand Orient of France (GODF) adopted a unified ritual for craft lodges. Sobre and clear, it was designed as a synthesis of the 18th century practices, favoring simplicity and coherence.
Over time, the French Rite has experienced several revisions that have given birth to different sensitivities:
✔ an approach faithful to the original ("Traditional" version) text,
✔ a reconstruction inspired by ancient sources ("Modern Restored"),
✔ An official version widely practiced at the GODF ("Groussier" version).
These developments reflect the adaptability of the rite to the needs of the lodges while retaining a common base: language clarity, simple and accent initiatory progression on freedom of conscience.
Our Masonic Regalia for the French Rite
The French Rite includes the three craft degrees (Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft, Master Mason) and can be extended in the Higher Degrees, know as Wisdom Orders. Each of these degrees requires specific regalia, guaranteeing ritual conformity and respect for tradition.
Entered Apprentice and Fellowcraft Regalia
Entered Apprentices and Fellowcrafts wear a White Apron , and wear Masonic white gloves. The Apron is worn flap up by the Entered Apprentice and flap down by the Fellowcraft. These simple distinctions recall progression and homework specific to each degree.
Master Mason Regalia
The Master Mason Apron of the French Rite is distinguished by its blue ribbon borders, with variable nuances according to the versions (sky blue for Traditional and Modern Restored, turquoise blue for Groussier version). The symbols can include the Square and Compasses, the Blazing Star, the letters M and B, or even Acacia branches.
A sash generally completes the outfit, embellished with a red rosette and sometimes specific embroidery. These elements mark the entry into a higher level of responsibility within the lodge.
Worshipful Master and Lodge Officers Regalia
The Lodge Officers and the Worshipful Master wear a distinctive collar, embroidered with the insignia corresponding to their function. These badges guarantee the visibility of the offices. The Worshipful Master usually wears a Grand Glory or a Blazing Star with the letter G.
Higher Degrees Regalia
Beyond the Master Mason degree, the French rite continues with the Orders of Wisdom. Everyone has their specific regalia: colorful aprons, distinctive collara and jewels reflecting initiation progression. These Higher Degrees deepen the philosophical and humanist dimension of the rite.
At Nos Colonnes Masonic Boutique, we offer complete sets to accompany each step, from the first degree to the Orders of Wisdom.
