This is the Secretary’s collar (sautoir), for lodges of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite (REAA). Made of turquoise blue natural silk edged in red, it is hand-embroidered in gold with the insignia of the office. Its black back, lined for comfort, bears a funereal print.
