Set 6 Banners for Chamber of Reflection
This pack brings together six banners (banderoles) for the Chamber of Reflection (Cabinet de Réflexion). Each bears one of the maxims written on the walls of the Chamber: “If curiosity has brought you here, leave, there is still time”; “If your soul has felt dread, go no further”; “If you are capable of deceit, tremble, you will be seen through”; “If you fear being enlightened about your faults, you will be ill at ease among us”; “If you cling to human distinctions, leave, we know none here”; “If you persevere, you will be purified by the elements. You will come out of the abyss of darkness and you will see the Light”.
