Rhizomes
Rhizomes
Freemasonry (French) - Éditions F. Deville
Author: Jean Delruelle
A rhizome is the underground plant stem that carries vital energy and can put out shoots all along its course in favourable ground. Rhizomes spread in every direction, feed on the materials they meet, just as they fertilise the soil and help renew the plant cover above ground. Their network is a network of exchanges, of life impulses and creativity.
So it is in Freemasonry: after the first three degrees, the main obstacles are considered overcome and assimilated. The Mason can then build and develop his philosophy on a horizontal plane, which interpenetrates that of his brothers and sisters and ends up covering, as a fertile network, a great deal of space. Masonry depends on each of us, Masons, since each one is unique, responsible for their own work of self-construction, while fitting into an ever-changing society based on a consensus to which everyone must adjust.
The aim of this book is to explore, at least in part, the map of the rhizomes of a Masonic life, freed from God and from any idol regarded as a third party.
