Progress of Humanity, Progress in Humanity - BA
Progrès de l’humanité, progrès en humanité (Progress of humanity, progress in humanity)
Freemasonry (French) - Éditions F. Deville
Author: Daniel Menschaert
Since its creation, Freemasonry has debated an important question: is its role solely to ensure that its members, through the initiatory path, improve themselves and shine individually in the outside world, or is its role also to act, as a moral conscience, collectively in society?
This book attempts to show that this is a false debate. How could one work for the progress of humanity without having made progress in humanity oneself? Conversely, can the human being, a social animal, progress without confronting others? How can one work for the progress of humanity without trying to carry out a project for a temple of humanity where liberty, equality and fraternity would reign?
To illustrate his point, the author takes as examples the concrete actions of members of the Belgian Federation of the International Mixed Masonic Order Le Droit Humain who worked for equality between men and women, for educational innovation, and for freedom in the dark hours of the Second World War.
