This is the jewel of the Hospitaller, for lodges of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite (REAA). It depicts the Widow’s Box (Tronc de la Veuve), held by a hand. It is made of airain, a copper alloy synonymous with bronze or brass, chosen for its hardness, its resistance and its permanent colour.
