Freemasonry book: from operational to speculative
Freemason (French) SHEKINAH-EDITIONS - May 17, 2017
Author: Rabi Zied-Odnil
If one cannot deny the fact that speculative Freemasonry could never have existed if operative Freemasonry had not in the past accepted people outside the profession, one must also admit that the comparisons stop there, because very quickly their paths parted.
It still took seventy years for this separation to become effective.
Regardless, these two organizations ignore each other completely these days, although the Compagnons du Devoir still have a certain distrust of the Freemasons who they accuse of having plagiarized, rites and symbols.
The current Freemasonry is an entity in its own right, it does not need to be affiliated with the Compagnonnage.
