Memphis Misraïm Rite Higher Degrees (ORUMM)
The Ordre des Rites Unis de Memphis et Misraïm (Order of the United Rites of Memphis and Misraïm) is a Masonic order which exclusively practices the rituals approved and edited by the Sovereign Sanctuary of the United Rites, in the direct parentage of the great hierophants Robert Ambelain, Gérard Kloppel and Joseph Castelli.
The Ordre des Rites Unis de Memphis et Misraïm particularly emphasizes on spiritual and mystical teachings. The members of the order must study esoteric knowledge in order to deepen their understanding of themselves and the world around them.
The origins of the rites of Memphis and Misraim date back to the 18th century, when several French Masonic lodges began to integrate Egyptian and hermetic symbolism into their rituals. Over time, these lodges have developed their own rites and initiation systems, which finally led to the formation of the Rites of Misraïm (1805) and Memphis (1838).
